International
Conference

Berlin,
6-7 October 2011

Aims & Topics

Enhanced international economic co-operation and development is essential for coping with global changes and seizing the opportunities of globalisation. This international conference is jointly organised by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the OECD. While commemorating 50 years of successful co-operation and development at the OECD, the conference will be forward looking and also engage non-OECD countries. It aims at facilitating policy dialogue on topics of global relevance such as:

Promoting green growth by tapping new sources of growth, increasing resources efficiency, and fostering structural changes which lead to more sustainable patterns of production and consumption.

Creating quality jobs for skilled labour by improving education and lifelong learning as well as by making the most of opportunities presented by migration.

Coping with new global patterns highlighting the economic and policy implications of fundamental changes in international trade, investment and innovation.

Strengthening global economic governance with co-operative policy approaches and concepts which transcend traditional national and disciplinary boundaries.

The OECD will provide substantive input into the panel discussions and facilitate exchange among decision makers, senior experts and stakeholders from a wide range of countries and backgrounds.
